The Provincial School of Arts in Hasselt (Provinciale Kunsthumaniora) has attracted a rising number of pupils in recent years and has enlarged its offering of courses. This created a need to expand the infrastructure. A new-build of 5,000 m² was constructed, including 4,058 m² of classrooms and subject rooms, a canteen, a technical room and a sports hall of 813 m². The rooms make prudent use of the surface area and are cohesively arranged. The construction of surrounding works also formed part of the programme, including roughly 270 m² of covered playground and 587 m² of outdoor playground.
Stéphane Beel Architects carried out the design work. Contractor group Juvalho was responsible for construction and now also for 30 years of maintenance.
